Welcome to the Autumn 2021 edition of w | ė magazine, the online wild based lifestyle magazine which brings seasonal stories, knowledge and recommendations to you, all based on a wild and beautiful approach.

This month w|ė will dive into Autumn. Think russet tones, DIY Pumpkin fun- (all you need is some pumpkins and a drill!), we look at the best trees for autumn colour and some seriously spooooooky plants- from poison to corpse smells and spooky dolls eyes. Last but not least we look back at the first of our amazing wild food events at Eccles Hotel in West Cork where we collaborated with Eddie Atwell and Mags Riordan and look ahead to the amazing upcoming February course called ‘Design, Grow, Eat’.

The Wild Table at Eccles Hotel

In early October chef Eddie Atwell, grower Mags Riordan and I came together to create the first of a series tasting menu’s at Eccles Hotel designed around what the wild and the garden has to offer right at that very moment. The idea was that nature can inspire us to create a menu moment by moment rather than forcing nature to do what we want it to do for our own plans. It was also a chance to celebrate the rich bounty which west cork nature has to offer and to explore the flavour of flowers, plants and foraged food in all its forms.
