This garden is based on the idea of creating a meadow within a meadow.
The clients Jane and Myles Lamberth had just bought an old cottage which they had renovated to a very high spec. With an approach of modern design meets vintage elements the couple’s house, whose interior I also helped shape, is a stunning mix of truly fabulous taste.
The couple who run Shells Surfcafe in Strandhill County Sligo have built up one of the North West’s best known brands and approached their house and garden in the same personal yet perfectly planned way. Creating a natural space in a very small garden, this outdoor area aimed to take into account the amazing views of the well known Knocknarea mountain which rises majestically behind the house.
The contemporary architecture and interior of the house is off set here with soft grasses and a range of perennials suitable to the coastal climate. The beautiful dog Milkshake came along after the garden was finished and gave the garden some life and fun, I couldn’t help naming it after her!
The garden and interior of Jane and Myles house can be seen in their book entitled : Surf Cafe living
